We installed the hot-dip galvanized safety grating on the main platform of our solvent extraction unit about a month ago. The previous flooring was a standard steel plate that had become dangerously slick after repeated chemical spills. The serrated surface on these panels has made a noticeable difference — even with oil residue present, the footing feels secure.
The zinc coating is holding up well against the acidic environment. I checked a cut edge where we had to trim a panel for a pipe penetration, and there is no sign of rust creep after four weeks. The load rating is as specified; we have a 200-liter drum cart crossing the platform daily, and there is no deflection or warping.
One thing to note: the panels are heavier than I expected. Installation required two people and a pallet jack for positioning. That is not a complaint — the weight gives me confidence in the material thickness — but it is worth factoring into the installation plan if you are working with a small crew. Overall, the grating has performed exactly as needed for this application.
